Shanghai Singapore Business Association - Singapore Club Shanghai. SSBA-SCS, run by a group of volunteer Singaporeans working in Shanghai, is one of the largest and most active Singaporean clubs in the world. It promotes networking among Singaporeans, expatriates and other local communities through Dinner Talks, Buzz Nights, Business Trips, Family Days as well as other events. SSBA-SCS aims to continue organizing events to foster ties among Singapore and increase networking opportunities amongst the business communities.
SSBA-SCS monthly dinner session and Cocktail and inter-chamber networking sessions are excellent opportunities for members to meet business contacts, government officials, experts and academia for business leads and build relationship. Meeting with visiting high level government delegations, Singapore dignitaries and government, as well as delegations in the Greater Shanghai Region
From time to time, SSBA-SCS invites speakers to present topics of interests to Singapore business communities in China. Such talks may include topics on taxation, HR and labor issues, finance and accounting, Crisis managing, Chinese government structure, etc.
SSBA-SCS supports or organizes business events and seminar. Members can enjoy membership price.
Regular updates via emails on the activities organized by SSBA-SCS as well as events co- host with other organizations. Aimed at helping members and their families pursue social and education interests, these activities include national day celebration, annual dinners (Mid-Autumn), Christmas parties, Yuanxiao Dinner, golf tournaments, visits to places of interests and education establishments.
SSBA-SCS members are regularly invited to events organized by other chambers of commerce, both local and foreign, Such Joint Chamber Trade Fair, Inter-Chamber Mixer.
These may be for information, breaking news, accumulated experience of doing business in China, job vacancies, business opportunities and services. Members also receive an annual year book and membership directory, as well as monthly newsletters by Email.
Members are invited to tea or dinner sessions with visiting policy makers to understand their unique needs and aspiration as overseas Singaporeans.
With the membership card, members are entitled to discounts and special promotions in retail and services outlets.
SSBA-SCS received a total of RMB173,757 from members and their friends for the purchase of medical and general supplies for the May 2008 Sichuan earthquake victims.
Through 2009 charity fair, we raised a total of RMB 300,762.70. Funds collected have been transferred to the China Charity Federation (CCF). Work on the school rebuilding will commence on 20 May 2009 and is expected to be completed by 20 Aug 2009.
