Launch of the Overseas Singaporean Portal by DPM Wong Kan Seng

Description
The Overseas Singaporean Portal was launched on 26th Aug2006, by Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Wong Kan Seng. It was held at Regent Hotel, Shanghai, with more than 800 Singaporeans in attendance.
DPM addressed the Singaporeans in the ballroom, saying how being in the company of Singaporeans makes him feel like he's already home. He introduced the Overseas Singaporean Unit, and its initiatives in building the connection between Singapore and the Singaporeans who have chosen to live away from the country.

Description
We held an EGM on 8 Sept 2006 for members to vote and to accept the revised constitution. Voters and their proxies casted 372 votes, which representing 82% of the total eligible votes, to accept the revised constitutio. After the EGM, we held a Buzz Nite and invited Singaporean geomancer Master Huang Hongjian to give a talk on how to improve one's luck via geomancy.

SSBA-SCS Business Forum 2006

Description
On 26th October 2006, Thursday, SSBA-SCS held her 2nd business forum at JW Mariott's Tomorrow Square with about 300 attendees attending the event. On that day, we had Guest-of-Honor, His excellency CG Chan Heng Wing and the keynote speaker as the Huangpu District Vice-Mayor, Mr Lu Xiao Dong.
The title for the forum was "Growing with China" with 2 panels of discussion. The first was "Transforming new enterprises into sustainable businesses". We were honored to have:

In addition to the GOH, key note speakers and panelists, we were also honored to have Mr Ignatius Lim, Regional Director of IES - East China as our moderator for both panels. Last but not least, thanks to CG Chan's invitation, we had Chairman of Shanda Networking, Mr Chen Tian Qiao to join us for the networking session.
During and after the forum, there were very much interaction and Q&A. Most importantly, lots of card exchanging as new business partners and opportunities are bridged.
The event stayed on till late 8.30pm before attendees start to leave. All these would not have been possible if not for the sponsors like DBS, Capitaland, DP Architects, Parkway Holdings, SIF, Wong partnership, PB, Suzhou Industrial Park. Our communication partner, Cohn & Wolfe which managed to help get over 10 reports of the forum in major chinese newspapers, magazines and internet. Last but not least, a big thank you to the behind-the-scene heros, the organizing committee which makes this second year forum just an equal success.
